My thoughts on this book:
This was a very good slow paced novel and I really liked the plot along with the plot twist. It’s another one of Simon Elkeles’s novel that I really liked. This is a young adult contemporary romance novel that I found very intriguing and if you are in a reading slump this book would get you out of it.
This story is about a girl named Maggie Armstrong who has been hit by a car by her neighbor, Caleb Becker, and has been hit severely enough that now, she needs physical therapy. Even after months of physical therapy and endurance she is left with a limp. All she needs to do now is get out of this town, Paradise, and go to Spain- a chance to escape from this town.
Caleb Becker was convicted of Maggie’s hit-and-run and has spent the past year in juvenile detention. While he is happy to be free, he returns to Paradise to find his family in turmoil, and he realizes that he can’t just slip right back into his life again.
As a part of Caleb’s community service, he is forced to work at Mrs. Reynolde’s house where Maggie works as well.
A bleak and torturous journey begins for Maggie and Caleb as they are forced to see each other due to certain circumstances.
Slowly they uncover the truth about what happened the night when the accident took place and start finding strength and comfort for each other.
